Annual Report 2024

2024 Annual Report!

2024 was a bumper year for Food for the Cure! We donated over 600 pounds of food to families and University Health’s Oncology Department. All this thankfully to a new donation partner. Colorado Peaches for Kansas City were so gracious and donated lots of Organic peaches and sweet cherries to our cancer patients. They are my heroes!

What makes us do it? The Mission!

Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area.

Financial Report

We started the year with $19,982.40! The total cash donations we received were a healthy $9,094.14!

Our total expenses, which include operational and professional expenses for the year, were a grand total of $7,205.48. We were lucky enough to expand with another partner garden location to grow even more food.

We ended this year in the green with a balance of $13,733.92 in the bank!

Ending Thoughts

With 2024 behind us, we are always looking towards growth and expansion. It’s the only way to grow more food for our cancer patients need. With 2025 in the horizon, we will invest in our processes and grow all the plants ourselves. This will increase the costs but will ensure that every step is the best choice for our cancer patients. A new thing for the year to come will be a ozone bubbler system to clean the vegetables for our cancer patients. So excited for the year to come! With 2023 behind us, we had high hopes in being able to harness the power of a $20,000 reimbursement grant. But due to not finding suitable clean land we had to give it up and back to Kanas City. Even though we couldn’t achieve that goal we will look forward to a bright future as we work towards closing the gap of available organic food to cancer patients in need.
