We had a wonderful tournament! Thank you for your support!
2022 was an interesting year as the fear of Covid slowly died down and the weather got hotter. With that heat and odd weather in general, we didn’t grow as much food this year. We donated around 275 pounds of food this year. Even though we still helped cancer patients in need!
Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area.
We started the year with $1,730.89! The total cash donations we received were a whopping $4,414.22!
Our total expenses, which include operational and professional expenses for the year, were a grand total of $3,760.01. Running a garden unfortunately isn’t cheap and requires annual purchases. Next year should be cheaper as we will be switching to cover crops and a living walkway.
We ended this year in the green with a balance of $2,385.10 in the bank!
With 2022 behind us, we look at our garden with fresh eyes and better ways to grow our food. We planted cover crops at the end of October that should help with the health of our soil. We also got a huge donation of 16 cu feet of compost from compost from Missouri Organic! All and all 2023 has the potential to be our best year as we ramp up our fundraising to hopefully gain access to our Rebuild KC reimbursement grant worth $20,000!
