2023 was a very busy year! We donated over 500 pounds of food to 24 families and University Health’s Oncology Department. We had such a large list that we had to split our donation days into zones. It truly was a great year for Food for the Cure.
Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients in the Kansas City Metro Area.
We started the year with $2,326.33! The total cash donations we received were a magical $27,497.18! I am so grateful to our community and local businesses that made this happen.
Our total expenses, which include operational and professional expenses for the year, were a grand total of $7,205.48. As we grow and expand so will our expenses.
We ended this year in the green with a balance of $19,982.40 in the bank!
With 2023 behind us, we had high hopes in being able to harness the power of a $20,000 reimbursement grant. But due to not finding suitable clean land we had to give it up and back to Kanas City. Even though we couldn’t achieve that goal we will look forward to a bright future as we work towards closing the gap of available organic food to cancer patients in need.
