We had a wonderful tournament! Thank you for your support!
July 2019 was the birth of Food for the Cure! We started out with a small group of people to go from an idea to an Incorporated Nonprofit in Missouri. Our mission stayed strong as we looked for organic donations and wrote a pamphlet describing some of the good that organics can provide for our body and planet! And as move on to 2020 we will strive to achieve even more giving as we will grow a small garden to give even more healthy vegetables to local cancer patients.
Our mission is to create programs that teach people how organic food may improve our health and to give free organic food to cancer patients. in the Kansas City Metro Area.
As we started out very small we have meager funds. But with time and donations from our local Community we will grow ever so much more to help the cancer patients in our lovely area!
We started our journey with 480 dollars which was donated graciously by Jennie Fowler and Stephen Smith. Without them Food for the Cure would of never happened.
We had a small organic coffee fundraiser with Jo Coffee. We collected 696.63 in total and 406.87 was Jo's share from the fundraiser. Leaving us an awesome 289.76 dollar share for our hard work all the while touting the good of organics and our mission!
Our total expenses were 97.73 for registrations and printing, publications, postage, and shipping . Which was used for our programs to get volunteers, make pamphlets, and gather donations. We made many fliers that were posted all around the metro area at like Natural Grocers and other community board locations.
We ended our first year in the green at 672.03! As we grow and give out more and more organic food we hope to help as many cancer patients we can!
We truly do want to do as much good as possible and help cancer patients with their battle with cancer. Food is such a simple thing and most people don't take to much thought about it as they go on with their daily lives. But we think about it a lot and know that organic food has less pesticide residue which means less things a body has to remove. With that we want to remove that extra work from a cancer patients body so that energy can go towards their end goal of beating cancer!
Thank you for taking the time to read about our first annual report. I hope we inspired you to choose organic for yourself and your loved ones. We only have one life, so lets nourish it!
